Most research has focused on uva ursi’s urinary antiseptic component, arbutin, which typically composes 7% to 9% of the leaves. However, crude plant extracts are much more effective medicinally than isolated arbutin. Uva ursi is reported to be a good diuretic and especially active against E. coli
Uva ursi is used as a diuretic, urinary antiseptic for bladder and kidney infections, hemorrhoids and womb problems (very good as a post-partum remedy to prevent infections). It strengthens the heart muscle and helps disorders of the spleen, liver, pancreas, and small intestines. It is good for female disorders.
Ingredients
Each vegetable capsule contains:
Medicinal Ingredient: Uva-ursi (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi) Leaf 435 mg
Other ingredients: Non‑GMO vegetable capsule composed of vegetable carbohydrate gum and purified water.
Suggested Use
Take four (4) capsules three times (3x) daily with meals. Not for prolonged use. Use for up to 7 days.
Cautions
Consult a health care practitioner if symptoms persist or worsen. Do not exceed recommended dose. For adult use only. If you have a liver disorder, fever, painful urination (dysuria), spasms, or blood in urine, consult a health care practitioner prior to use. Do not take if you are pregnant or breastfeeding; if you have been diagnosed with a kidney disorder. May cause discoloured urine. If nausea or vomiting occur, discontinue use.
