Used in herbal medicine to help relieve cold and flu symptoms andd relieve fever (promotes sweating) in children 3 to 12 years.
Used in herbal medicine to relieve throat irritation and associated dry cough in adolescents and children ages 6 years and older.
Suggested Use
- Adolsescents and children (6 years and older):
Take 1 teaspoon 3 times daily or as recommended by your health care practitioner.
Consult your health care practitioner for use beyond 4 weeks.
- Children (3-5 years):
Take 1/2 teaspoon 3 times daily or as recommended by your health care practitioner.
Consult your health care practitioner for use beyond 14 days.
Take a few hours before or after taking other medications or natural health products.
Cautions
Do ot use if you are allergic to ivy.
Consult your health care practitioner prior to use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking antitussives, or have gastrointestinal inflammation or ulcer.
Consult your health care practitioner if you experience fever, shortness of breath, purulent nasal or cough discharge, or if symptoms persist or worsen.
Disscontinue use in case of gastrointestinal upsets, such as abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea.
Hypersensitivity to european elder can occur; in wich case, discontinue use.
Diuretic effect may occur.
