- For Prolax: Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use if you have abnormal constrictions of the gastrointestinal tract, potential or existing intestinal blockage, atonic bowel, appendicitis, inflammatory colon disease such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis, abdominal pain of unknown origin, undiagnosed rectal bleeding, severe dehydration with depleted water or electrolytes or diarrhea. Do not use if you have hypokalemia, high blood pressure, or kidney or cardiovascular disorder. Do not use if you have arthritis. Contraindicated in those with a weak stomach and those who do not have constipation.
For acidophilus Ultra: Do not use if you are experiencing nausea, fever, vomiting, bloody diarrhoea or severe abdominal pain. Do not use if you have an immune-compromised condition (e.g. AIDS, lymphoma, patients undergoing long-term corticosteroid treatment).
For Ultra Fibre Plantago: Do not use if you are experiencing a sudden change in bowel habits that has persisted for more than 2 weeks, undiagnosed rectal bleeding, or failure to defaecate following the use of another laxative product. Do not use if you have diabetes mellitus in which blood sugars are difficult to regulate. Do not use if you have difficulty swallowing. Do not use if you are experiencing distention and fullness of the chest and abdomen; if you are vomiting from overabundant dampness; if you have edema, hypertension, hypokalemia, cholestatic disorders, cirrhosis of the liver, chronic renal insufficiency or congestive heart failure. Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or undergoing corticosteroid treatment. Do not use if you suffer from fibril disorder.
For Springlife: Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use if you have been diagnosed with a liver disorder or if liver function is impaired; if you are taking acetaminophen or anticoagulants; if you have a fever and/or suffer from a febrile disorder.
For Pancreatin: Do not use if you are sensitive to pancreatic enzymes. Do not use if you are sensitive to pork proteins. - For Prolax: Hypersensitivity is known to occur, in which case, discontinue use. With chronic use or abuse, disturbances of electrolyte balance, especially potassium deficiency, albuminuria and hematuria may occur. Rectal bleeding or failure to have a bowel movement after the use of a laxative may indicate a serious condition. May cause cramp-like discomfort of the gastrointestinal tract, which may require a reduction of dosage. The astringent effect of rhubarb may exacerbate, rather than relieve symptoms of constipation.
For Ultra Fibre Plantago: Hypersensitivity, such as allergy has been known to occur following inhaled and/or ingested psyllium, in which case discontinue use. May cause temporary gas and/or bloating. Consult a health care practitioner in the event of an allergic reaction, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.
For Springlife: Large doses (many times the recommended dosage) of bayberry may be emetic and cause stomach problems.
For Pancreatin: Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain/epigastric pain and/or heartburn have been known to occur, in which case discontinue use (and consult a health care practitioner). - If you have diabetes, consult a healthcare practitioner prior to use.
