NOW® Ultra B-12 Liquid is a high potency, vegetarian and alcohol-free B-complex formulation for therapeutic use.
Vitamin B12 is an essential water-soluble vitamin that is commonly found in a variety of foods such as fish, shellfish, meat, and dairy products, but is deficient in the typical vegetarian diet. B12 helps maintain healthy nerve cells and red blood cells and is also needed to make DNA. B12 combines with a substance called intrinsic factor (IF) before it is absorbed into the bloodstream. An inability to absorb vitamin B12 from the intestinal tract is increasingly common among aging population. Strict vegetarians or vegans who are not taking in proper amounts of B12 are also affected by this deficiency. Studies have also shown that a deficiency of vitamin B12 can cause abnormal neurologic and psychiatric symptoms. This potent formulation delivers 5 mg of B12 per teaspoon and contains three different forms of the nutrient to maximize utilization. NOW® Ultra B12 also contains a complete range of B-vitamins, including 800 mcg of folic acid, and Vitamin C. This is our most potent and complete B-Complex liquid.
Directions
Shake well before use.
Adult Dosage : in the morning, take 1 teaspoon (5 ml) daily. Hold in mouth for 30 seconds, and then swallow. Refrigerate after opening to maximize freshness.
