Product Details

Green tea is used in Traditional Chinese medicine as an astringent, cardiotonic, central nervous system stimulant, diuretic and for treating flatulence, regulating body temperature, promoting digestion and improving mental processes. In India, the leaf infusion of green tea has additionally been used to treat fungal infections. Green Tea Extract contains numerous compounds, including Polyphenols and Catechins, that provide potent antioxidant benefits.

EGCg is the most studied green tea catechin. It has demonstrated extraordinary free radical quenching power in laboratory studies. One capsule of NOW® Green Tea Extract provides 200 mg EGCg and phytonutrient content equal to about 2-3 cups of green tea. Green tea may also help in weight management when used with a program of reduced intake of dietary calories and increased physical activity.
