The consequences of hearing loss
The hearing loss is not without consequences for the people who are victims of it. Indeed, we observe different forms of disorders related to hearing loss.
Social unrest: Social unrest in a person who cannot hear well results in:
• Difficulties in communicating: the person does not understand or understands the interlocutor poorly, they must make them repeat or make them speak louder in order to understand.
• Isolation: the person with hearing loss tends to withdraw into himself and therefore to isolate himself socially. Little by little this person excludes himself or is excluded.
Physical ailments Physical problems are also observed in people with impaired hearing such as • Headaches • High blood pressure • Loss of balance • Tinnitus or hyperacusis
Psychological disturbances Psychologically, people who are hard of hearing or deaf are weakened and therefore, can be subject to stress due to the lack of perception of the world around them and therefore have a feeling of insecurity. Usually these people also have low morale which is the consequence of a lack of confidence and low self-esteem, a feeling of shame, etc. Sometimes it can lead to depression. As a result, individuals with hearing loss may experience fatigue and a lack of appetite.
The main diseases attributed to the ear are:
Tinnitus - Presbycusis and hyperacusis - Otitis - Ménière's disease - Labyrinthitis Perforation of the eardrum to name a few.
